My Promise to YouSeveral years ago, a young family bought an older fixer-upper house. they had a small family business that was at it's seasonal peak. The mother had taken one of the daughters to a school event. After a busy day Dad put the receipts of the days business, including the cash from the day's sales, on the kitchen table. To celebrate a prosperous day he decided to take the family out to eat. When they returned home they saw smoke billowing from the attic vents. Their house was on fire! The fire department was called and arrived in a timely manner but it was too late the entire kitchen and a large portion of the house was destroyed. They also lost their family pet.The family had to move to a rent house, there was a dispute with the insurance company there was not enough insurance to cover the belongings and contents, the receipts from credit cards checks and cash would not be replaced. The fire department did an investigation and found faulty wiring underneath the built-in oven. The wires were not protected in a junction box and the wire nuts had come off. A sliding drawer in the oven had pushed the wires together causing them to arc and ignite. This story is my story. It happened several years ago before I was a home inspector. It has made a permanant impression on me. Since I have been inspecting , I inspect each home, I inspect it as if my family were going to live there. Your home is one of the biggest investments that you will make. Choosing the right home inspector for this major investment can be difficult. Different inspectors have varying qualifications, equipment, pricing, reporting methods, and yes, different experiences . One thing for sure is that a home inspection requires work, a lot of work. Ultimately a thorough inspection depends on the individual inspector's own effort integrity and values. Unlike most professionals, you may not have the opportunity to meet me until after you hire me. Call me for a list of satisfied clients. Call me for your next home inspection, you will be glad you did. If you honor me by permitting me to inspect your home, I guarantee that I will give you my very best effort. This I promise you. |
